The church hall is a well maintained two storey building that was built in the 1960s. It has a lift to the upstairs which is suitable for wheelchairs and a simpler lift downstairs to help those who cannot manage the three stairs between the two levels. There is a toilet for the disabled which also includes a baby changing facility.

The hall is well used by church and community groups. Those using the hall are asked to contribute to its upkeep, which obviously is an expensive item. There are few halls in the immediate area, and we see sensible use of the church hall as a way of serving the local community.

We have three spaces available:

Lower Hall - on two levels - Foyer, Coffee Bar with seating up to 50, with kitchen & serving hatch, lower area with large space for other activities.

"Room 2" - About the size of a classroom (often used by the Nursery) - can be used for lectures etc (seating 30).

Upper Hall - (with access by stairs and disabled stair lift) large kitchen with serving hatch. Very large hall area with tables & chairs available able to seat up to 120 or up to 200 standing.

Terms and Conditions for using the hall

The hall is used primarily for organisations connected with the church and is not a money-making concern. It is therefore important that hall users are mindful of the fact that it is run by unpaid volunteers and do not cause unnecessary work.

  • All breakages must be reported within 24 hours.
  • All accidents or injuries should be recorded in the Accident Book which is kept in the lower hall kitchen, on the top shelf. Failure to do this may result in users becoming personally liable for any subsequent claims. The accident book protects both the church and the hall users from litigation.
  • Tables and chairs must be put back after use. The floors are easily damaged, and care should be taken not to drop cigarettes or gum. Any spilt drinks should be cleared up.
  • The kitchens should be left in good order, and can be used. Please leave them in good order.
  • Alcohol may not be sold unless a special licence has been obtained. Please state when booking whether you intend to apply for such a licence.
  • In accordance with usual practice in public places, smoking is not allowed in the halls.
  • The snooker table in the lower hall must not be moved.
  • All music and other noise must finish by 11pm. The hall must be vacated by midnight. At all times please be mindful of our neighbours, who rightly resent unnecessary noise. Users of the hall cannot use the car parking spaces for the flats opposite. Though hall users are obviously welcome to use the church car park, they should not assume they can leave their cars there overnight. Please do not allow anyone to park on the grass round the hall, nor on the path in front of the hall.
  • Please return the keys on the same day as your booking. All rubbish must be taken away and cannot be left in or around the hall. Please do not obstruct the emergency exits; note that the two stairways at the back of the stage are not emergency exits.
  • Please check the toilets before you leave, they must be left clean. Heating must be properly turned off before you leave. Please check that all lights are switched off.
  • The Church Council can accept no responsibility or liability for any articles lost or stolen on Hall premises nor for any damage or injury sustained by anyone using the hall or its grounds or the car park.

Licensing Act 2003 - Should your event in either Lower or Upper Hall require a license from the local authority it is your responsibility to apply and obtain it.

Any event that includes public invitation - advertising and selling of tickets, playing music (recorded or live), dancing, selling of alcohol etc. Private parties are exempt.
